Pixies Confirm First-Ever York Barbican Show in 2026 as Part of 40th Anniversary Tour

Legendary alternative rock band Pixies have confirmed a long-awaited UK appearance, announcing that they will perform at York Barbican on May 20, 2026, as a part of their Pixies 40 world tour.

The Pixies 40 tour celebrates the band’s four decades together and will see founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by newer member Emma Richardson, play across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

York Barbican will host what will be their first ever performance in the city, marking a milestone for both the venue and the band.  In tandem with the venue listing, the official show time is 7:00 p.m. (doors opening prior) for the York date.

Ticketing details have also been disclosed. General public ticket sales will start on Friday, September 26, 2025, with the York Barbican box office and other authorized outlets handling sales.

This UK leg includes six headline shows across Britain and Ireland, with a major highlight being a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 28, 2026.

Pixies have remained influential since their formation in Boston in 1986. Over the years, the band’s idiosyncratic sound, combining surf, punk, and surreal lyricism, has inspired countless artists. Their recent output includes their ninth studio record The Night the Zombies Came, released in 2024.

For fans in York and beyond, the May 20, 2026 show will be an emotional and historic night — the city’s first taste of a band that changed alternative rock forever.
