Porno for Pyros postpones 2023 Reunion Tour

Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, the leader of Porno For Pyros, is postponing their band’s reunion tour scheduled to begin next week.

The band, known for the platinum-selling single “Pets,” announced on social media that they were postponing their first full tour since 1997, including a show at the Masonic in San Francisco on Oct. 10. They stated the need to complete work on their new material as the reason for delaying the shows for “a few months.”

On Sunday, Oct. 1, Porno For Pyros conveyed their apprecitaion for the support they’ve received over the past 30 years. And their enthusiasm to celebrate their 30th anniversary with their fans. They said that while preparing for their first tour in 25 years. The band has also been in the studio producing new music. They had hoped to share this new music with their audience in time for these shows.

The statement further explained, “Unfortunately, we had to postpone the upcoming tour because we couldn’t initiate our program on time.” Therefore, we have rescheduled the tour by a few months so that everyone can listen to and enjoy the new material that we have finished at last.”

The rescheduled dates will recognize tickets for the affected shows. Individuals can acquire refunds at the location where they originally bought their tickets.

In 1992, Farrell established Porno For Pyros shortly after the initial breakup of Jane’s Addiction. He teamed up with drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble. The band was momentarily halted when Jane’s Addiction reformed in 1997.

Last year, ongoing COVID-19 symptoms experienced by guitarist Dave Navarro forced Jane’s Addiction to cancel their scheduled headlining performance at the Florida music festival Welcome to Rockville. In their place, Porno for Pyros unexpectedly reunited for the first time in 24 years and performed at the festival.

“The band committed to keeping an eye out for new tour dates. And suggested everyone listen to the new music in the upcoming weeks. They said, ‘We’re coming!'”
