Shelby Harris Puts Myles Garrett Above Von Miller and Khalil Mack

Shelby Harris Calls Rams Star Myles Garrett the Best Defender He’s Ever Played With

Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett continues to earn admiration across the NFL, with veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris offering perhaps the highest praise yet.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Harris described Garrett as the most dominant defensive player he has ever shared a field with, placing him above former teammates Von Miller and Khalil Mack.

According to Harris, Garrett’s impact goes far beyond his individual production. He believes the attention Garrett demands from opposing offensive lines creates opportunities for every defender around him.

“It’s really a pick your poison type deal,” Harris said, explaining that offenses focusing multiple blockers on Garrett leave the rest of the Rams’ defensive front with favorable one-on-one matchups.

Harris also pointed to Garrett’s ability to take over games when offenses fail to dedicate extra protection, highlighting several explosive performances from last season. Although Harris mistakenly recalled Garrett recording five sacks against the Raiders—officially, Garrett was credited with three sacks—the veteran’s overall assessment reflects Garrett’s reputation as one of football’s premier pass rushers.

Garrett Expected to Elevate Rams’ Defensive Front

Garrett joins a Rams defense that was already among the league’s most productive. Before acquiring the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Los Angeles featured an emerging pass rush led by Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and Braden Fiske.

Young finished last season with 12 sacks and earned recognition in the NFL Top 100, while Turner and Fiske combined to generate consistent pressure from the interior. Together, the Rams ranked among the NFL’s top teams in sacks during the 2025 season.

Garrett’s arrival gives Los Angeles one of the league’s most feared defensive fronts. His ability to command double and even triple teams is expected to create additional opportunities for teammates while strengthening the Rams’ pursuit of another Super Bowl.

Speculation has also grown regarding a possible return by retired superstar Aaron Donald. While no decision has been made, the possibility of pairing Donald with Garrett has generated excitement around the league.
