Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler made his first public appearance since his vocal damage, providing an update on his condition.

Tyler opened up about his rehabilitation process while speaking at his 5th annual Jam for Janie Grammys viewing party, which benefits Janie’s Fund—a non-profit organization he formed to support girls who have survived abuse and neglect.

My throat has improved, but it is still on the mend. And of all things, I’ve opted to follow the advice of the females at Janie’s house rather than my doctors.”

The Injury That Paused Aerosmith’s Farewell Tour

The vocal damage occurred during an Aerosmith performance in September 2023, necessitating the delay of the remaining shows of their final tour. A message from the band on Instagram underscored the severity of Tyler’s condition, saying:

“Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more severe than previously imagined. His doctor confirmed that, in addition to the damage to his voice chords, he cracked his larynx, necessitating continuing treatment.

Steven Tyler Promises To Return To The Stage

Despite the setback, Tyler expressed his disappointment at not being able to play with Aerosmith and the Black Crowes, promising fans:

I’m heartbroken not to be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the wonderful Black Crowes, rocking with the world’s best fans. I swear we will be back as soon as possible!”

In a further positive development, photographer Ross Halfin published new images of Tyler in October, showing the singer in excellent spirits while playing guitar and smiling. Furthermore, a recent video from a party hosted by Sammy Hagar’s son, Aaron, shows Tyler in apparent excellent condition, smiling and interacting with guests, including Hagar.
