Sublime have officially announced their first new studio album in nearly three decades, titled Until the Sun Explodes, set for release on June 12, 2026.
The record marks the band’s first full-length release since their 1996 self-titled album, which came out shortly after the death of original frontman Bradley Nowell.
This new album introduces a major lineup shift. Leading vocals and guitar duties are handled by Jakob Nowell, Bradley Nowell’s son, alongside original members Eric Wilson (bass) and Bud Gaugh (drums).
Until the Sun Explodes is a 14-track project rooted in the band’s established blend of ska-punk and reggae rock, while also serving as a continuation of their legacy.
The album’s lead single, Ensenada, released in July 2025, became the band’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart since 1996, marking a significant commercial comeback.
Production on the album includes work that began in 2025, with sessions aimed at building a modern record while preserving the band’s original sound.
The project also arrives as part of a broader return for Sublime, following their reunion with Jakob Nowell in 2023 and a series of festival performances and tour dates leading into 2026.
This release represents the band’s first complete studio statement in 30 years and serves as both a continuation of their catalog and a new phase built around the next generation.
