The Who Hosts Star-Studded Charity Show With Fogerty, Eddie Vedder And More

On October 3, 2025, The Who pulled off their 10th annual Backyard Concert in Los Angeles as a charity event benefiting Teen Cancer America and the UCLA Health Center.  The occasion was made even more poignant because it came just two days after The Who played the final date of their “The Song Is Over” farewell North American tour in Thousand Palms, California. 

For this backyard gathering, The Who shared the stage with a lineup of rock heavyweights: Eddie Vedder, The Doobie Brothers, John Fogerty, Def Leppard, Peter Frampton, and Cheap Trick.  The event featured lush backdrops, guest appearances, and sets peppered with both nostalgia and surprises. 

What The Who Did

Despite having just wrapped a farewell tour, The Who delivered a robust seven-song set that included classics like “I Can’t Explain,” “Who Are You,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” and “Baba O’Riley.”  One standout moment was a version of “The Kids Are Alright” performed with Eddie Vedder. 

Guest Highlights & Moments

• John Fogerty brought the crowd to life with songs like “Bad Moon Rising,” “Down on the Corner,” and concluded with “Fortunate Son”, joined by Vedder.  
• Def Leppard surprised many by performing an acoustic set — their first in that style since 1995.  They played “Armageddon It,” “Hysteria,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and a few more.  
• Cheap Trick opened their portion with hits “Surrender” and “Dream Police.”  
• Peter Frampton performed his signature “Show Me the Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do”, as well as “Baby, I Love Your Way.”  
• The Doobie Brothers delivered fan favorites like “Long Train Runnin’,” “China Grove,” “Black Water,” and “Listen to the Music.”
