Harry Styles is no stranger to comparisons with Mick Jagger, thanks to his charismatic stage presence and bold, androgynous fashion. However, The Rolling Stones frontman recently dismissed the parallels as “superficial,” emphasizing that Styles’ resemblance to his younger self only scratches the surface.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Jagger shared his perspective on the pop star: “I like Harry — we have an easy relationship. But I used to wear a lot more eye makeup than him. Come on, I was much more androgynous. And he doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me. He just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that.”

Jagger’s remarks came as Styles released his third studio album, Harry’s House. The album, which debuted on May 20, received critical acclaim for its evolution in sound. Jem Aswad of Variety praised it as a “continuation and progression” of Styles’ previous Grammy-winning album, Fine Line.

Lyrically, Harry’s House takes a more intimate tone, reflecting the changes Styles has undergone since the pandemic. The record starts with the upbeat “Music in a Sushi Restaurant” and the 80s-inspired “Late Night Talking” before settling into a reflective groove. Its lead single, “As It Was,” has already topped charts worldwide, solidifying Styles’ status as a global pop icon.

Despite the comparisons, Styles’ artistry and career trajectory stand firmly in their own right. While Jagger may downplay their similarities, the Rolling Stones legend remains supportive of Styles, whose confidence and charm continue to captivate fans across the globe.
