Tracii Guns recently discussed why Axl Rose is the most important member of Guns N’ Roses during an appearance on the Shout It Out Loudcast.
The rocker said the following about the GNR frontman:
It’s intriguing because, after all these years, Guns N’ Roses still seem like a fantastic classic rock group. That’s what I’ve always thought. Well, there are the songs, and then there’s Axl. You have Axl, and you have sort of the Aerosmith setup. The band will always be sold by the singer. Without the guy upfront, even with the greatest band in the world, the value isn’t very high.
He continued by discussing Rose’s vocal prowess and fronting roles:
Because he’s going to bring it, Axl doesn’t really care what he sings, according to his way of thinking. He will bring it whether he is singing in church or to rock ‘n’ roll or electronic music.
Rose was a perfect fit for GNR according to Tracii Guns
Guns has previously expressed his admiration for Axl. Is Slash among the top three guitarists that Rock History’s followers love? They asked on X last month. A commenter stated:
“As a guitarist, he is superior to Guns N’ Roses. Had he only had a better vocalist. In any case, among the best.
After seeing this tweet, Tracii replied:
Like who? And how much success would he have gotten out of it? Axl, Scott, and Myles are probably at the top of the list of options that he has had, in the opinion of most people. Why you said this is curious to me. Is it because you believe that his fans don’t like his singers?
Tracii talked to Metal Edge in 2022 about the first time he heard Axl Rose perform. He saw Axl live and was struck by how strong his voice was at a show with Hollywood Rose, Poison, and L.A. Guns.
