“WE’VE SAID WHAT WE SAID”: IRON MAIDEN FINALLY REACT TO ROCK HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

Robert Dickinson

Iron Maiden have finally been named in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026, ending years of debate and fan frustration over their long absence from the institution.

The band’s reaction to the induction has remained measured and understated, with appreciation for the recognition but without changing their long-held stance on the Hall itself. Over the years, Bruce Dickinson has been openly critical of the institution, famously describing it as an “utter and complete load of bollocks” and questioning the idea of rock music being preserved like a museum exhibit.

Despite that, Iron Maiden’s influence on global heavy metal is undisputed. From landmark albums like The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave, the band helped define the sound, image, and scale of modern metal, inspiring countless acts across generations.

Their induction places them alongside a diverse 2026 class that includes Oasis, Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Sade, Joy Division/New Order, and Wu-Tang Clan, marking one of the most wide-ranging selections in Rock Hall history.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 ceremony will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, where Iron Maiden will be formally honored after decades of discussion surrounding their exclusion and eventual acceptance into the institution.
