On the morning of September 18, 1970, Dannemann woke up at approximately 11 a.m. to find Hendrix unconscious and unresponsive, though still breathing. She called for an ambulance at 11:18 a.m., and it arrived just nine minutes later.
Paramedics rushed Hendrix to St Mary Abbot’s Hospital, where Dr. John Bannister declared him dead at 12:45 p.m. on that same day.
According to Monika Dannemann’s claims, Jimi may have ingested up to nine tablets of Vesparax sleeping pills, which she had given him because he had been struggling to sleep for days.
