Bruce Dickinson to Begin Recording New Solo Album in January 2026

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has revealed that he’ll be heading into the studio in January 2026 to record his next solo album, following up The Mandrake Project (2024).

Talking on the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Dickinson explained that the recording process will be “old-school, live, in the studio.” He emphasized that the plan is not to record live and then replace everything later, but rather to “keep it all” unless a track really doesn’t work.

He also disclosed that the solo band has already demoed around 18 tracks in April, then reworked them in August, just before the North American leg of his Mandrake Project Live 2025 tour. He believes that 3 weeks in the studio should allow them to record 85-90 percent of the new album.

Dickinson is excited about the creativity and energy his bandmates are bringing. He commented that everyone is “pretty switched on … musical chops, off the charts.”

He also teased the sound: expecting some really heavy moments, but also acoustic pieces depending on what each song demands.  Dickinson aims for a release in 2027.

While there are no solo tour dates announced yet for the new album, Dickinson will be out with Iron Maiden on the Run For Your Lives 50th anniversary tour, which resumes with European and international dates in 2026.
