Punk rock royalty Sex Pistols are returning to the road for a very special celebration — marking 50 years since the release of their seminal track “Anarchy in the UK.”” The band has just revealed a UK and Ireland tour this December called The Anarchy In The UK Tour, honouring five decades of punk’s explosive birth.
The December run will see the Pistols hit major cities across the British Isles, bringing their raw, rebellious energy back to audiences in Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.
Tour Dates and Cities
- Dec. 7 — Dublin (3 Arena)
- Dec. 9 — Edinburgh (Corn Exchange)
- Dec. 10 — Glasgow (O2 Academy)
- Dec. 18 — London (O2 Academy Brixton)
- Dec. 20 — London (Eventim Apollo)
On this limited winter run, the band’s classic lineup — guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock — will be joined once again by vocalist Frank Carter, known for his work with Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
Original frontman John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon will not be participating. He has previously stated he will not return to the group, particularly after last year’s high-profile legal fight over the use of Sex Pistols songs in the Disney+ series Pistol.
The tour commemorates half a century since “Anarchy in the UK” helped ignite the punk movement and challenge musical and cultural norms in the 1970s. The band’s influence on rock and rebellious youth culture is undeniable, and this tour is billed as one of the closest experiences to the original punk spirit still possible today.
2026 also includes earlier summer festival dates and outdoor shows at venues like The Piece Hall in Halifax, Castlefield Bowl in Manchester, Cardiff Castle and Scarborough Open Air Theatre, where fans can catch the Pistols’ fierce live energy before the December celebration.
As Punk’s 50th anniversary approaches, this December run promises to be more than just nostalgia — it’s shaping up as a raw, high-energy tribute to a movement that changed music forever.
