David Draiman has reignited his long-running feud with Roger Waters, delivering one of his most aggressive statements yet during a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on The Magnificent Others hosted by Billy Corgan, Draiman was asked about Waters’ outspoken stance on the Israel–Palestine conflict. The discussion quickly turned heated, with Draiman openly criticizing Waters’ political views and past actions.
While acknowledging Waters’ personal history — including the loss of his father in World War II — Draiman said his stance had become deeply disappointing. He described it as a “massive betrayal… not just to me, but Jews everywhere,” adding that his frustration had been building for years rather than being tied to recent events.
Draiman went further, accusing Waters of aligning himself with controversial leaders and ideologies, claiming he has a “penchant for dictators” and questioning his commitment to human rights.
The tension escalated when Corgan suggested the possibility of the two musicians sitting down for a conversation. Draiman initially said he would be open to dialogue — but only after making a blunt remark that grabbed headlines:
He said he would “have to punch him first” before any discussion could happen.
Despite the remark, Draiman maintained that he is generally willing to engage in conversation, though he expressed doubt that Waters could be persuaded or reasoned with at this stage.
This isn’t the first time Draiman has targeted Waters. Over the years, he has repeatedly criticized the former Pink Floyd member for his political activism, particularly regarding Israel, even previously using harsh language to describe him.
The latest comments add fuel to an already volatile feud between the two musicians — one that blends politics, personal beliefs, and long-standing ideological differences. With both figures continuing to speak out publicly, the conflict shows no signs of cooling down anytime soon.
