Foreigner Introduces New Lead Singer and Announces 2026 Dates for 50th Anniversary Tour

Foreigner, the classic rock band known for hits like Juke Box Hero and Waiting for a Girl Like You, is undergoing a significant lineup shift as they approach their 50th anniversary. Longtime singer Kelly Hansen confirmed he will leave his role as lead vocalist at the end of Foreigner’s 2025 summer concert run. His replacement will be Luis Maldonado, who has been part of the band since 2021 as a guitarist and has already been performing some vocals in recent shows.

To mark this era of change, Foreigner is releasing Foreigner 4 Deluxe on September 12, 2025, a expanded edition of their multi-platinum 1981 album 4. The package includes remastered stereo and Atmos mixes, unreleased songs, alternate versions, instrumentals, and live performances from their 1981-82 world tour.

On stage, the current lineup will feature: Luis Maldonado (lead vocals/guitar), Jeff Pilson (bass), Bruce Watson (guitar), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), and Chris Frazier (drums). Lou Gramm, the original lead singer, will make guest appearances on specific songs during parts of the tour.

Foreigner has also announced first 10 dates of their 2026 U.S. concerts, many of which will be special orchestral shows. Notably, they’ll perform with a 20-piece orchestra under arrangements by cellist Dave Eggar. These shows are set up to stretch from early March through late March and early April, including multiple nights in Las Vegas and stops in California and San Jose.

Kelly Hansen expressed pride and gratitude regarding his time with the band, calling it “one of the greatest honors” of his life. He endorsed Maldonado, saying he believes in his voice and energy to “carry these songs into the future.”

While Foreigner continues to draw large crowds and streaming numbers remain strong, this change represents not just a new chapter, but a passing of the torch. With the deluxe album release, the 50th anniversary tour, and Lou Gramm’s guest spots, Foreigner is clearly balancing reverence for their legacy with forward motion. Fans will soon get to hear how this evolution sounds live.
