Korn Drop Surprise Single “Reward The Scars” — First New Music in Four Years

Korn have returned with a surprise new single, “Reward The Scars,” marking their first release since 2022 and signaling a fresh chapter for the band.

The track was released on April 23, 2026, arriving without prior buildup and instantly grabbing attention across the rock and metal scene. It also comes with a major crossover element — the song is tied to the upcoming **Diablo IV expansion Lord of Hatred, set to release on April 28, 2026.

“Reward The Scars” leans into Korn’s signature sound — heavy, dark, and emotionally intense — while fitting seamlessly into the brutal, atmospheric world of Diablo. The collaboration reflects the band’s continued evolution, blending music with gaming culture in a way that expands their reach beyond traditional audiences.

This release is particularly significant as it marks Korn’s first new material in four years, following their 2022 album Requiem.   The gap highlights a shift in the band’s approach, with guitarist Brian “Head” Welch previously suggesting they are in no rush to release full albums and may instead drop music more selectively.

The single also reflects changes within the band. It is one of the first studio recordings not to feature longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who stepped away from active involvement in recent years.

Behind the scenes, the track brings together a strong production team, continuing Korn’s collaboration with experienced producers to maintain their signature sound while pushing into new territory.

The timing of the release is strategic. Korn are set to headline major events like Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, alongside a busy international touring schedule across Latin America and Europe later in the year.

More than just a standalone single, “Reward The Scars” represents a broader moment for the band — a blend of nostalgia, reinvention, and cross-media collaboration. It shows Korn continuing to adapt while staying rooted in the heavy, emotional sound that defined their legacy.

After more than three decades, Korn aren’t just revisiting their past — they’re finding new ways to stay relevant, loud, and unpredictable.
