Mick Jagger Says He’s “Ready to Go” as Rolling Stones Plan 2027 Tour for New Album ‘Foreign Tongues’

Mick Jagger has given fans hope for a major Rolling Stones tour next year as the band prepares to release their 25th studio album, ‘Foreign Tongues’.

In a recent appearance on Sunday TODAY in the US, the 82-year-old rock icon expressed strong enthusiasm about hitting the road again. When asked about future touring plans, Jagger replied:

“I’d love to. I really want to. And, I’m ready to go. I don’t think we’re gonna do shows this year, but hopefully we’ll do shows next year.”

The new album ‘Foreign Tongues’ is set for release on July 10, 2026. The band has already shared the lead single “In the Stars”. Jagger described the record as stylistically diverse, saying:

“You hope that every track has got something for everyone. That’s why you’ve got, you know, 14 tracks.”

He also revealed that four songs on the album originated from earlier sessions, while the remaining ten were written and recorded in a rapid four-week period. Jagger credited the band’s songwriting process — where members write individually — for allowing them to work quickly and efficiently.

Despite six decades at the top of rock music, Jagger admitted he still feels nervous when releasing new material:

“You spend a lot of time [on the album] and it’s your baby. You want [people] to take notice of what you’ve done.”

The Rolling Stones remain one of the biggest live draws in the world. Their most recent North American tour grossed nearly $250 million and sold 880,000 tickets. Their last tour in 2024 supported Hackney Diamonds, their first album of original material in nearly 20 years.

Original Commentary: At 82 years old, Mick Jagger continues to show remarkable energy and drive. His clear desire to tour in support of new music demonstrates that the Rolling Stones have no intention of slowing down. With a new album on the way and Jagger confirming he’s “ready to go,” 2027 could be another massive year for the band and their fans.
