Slash is bringing the raw power of his blues side project to fans worldwide with the upcoming release of Live At The S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, a live album and concert film captured during his performance at the Mission Ballroom in Colorado on July 17, 2024. The project arrives on November 7, 2025, and showcases the guitarist stepping away from the Guns N’ Roses spotlight to celebrate the music that first inspired him: the blues.
Backed by his group Slash’s Blues Ball — featuring Teddy “ZigZag” Andreadis on keyboards and harmonica, Tash Neal on guitar and vocals, Johnny Griparic on bass, and Michael Jerome on drums — Slash delivered a set that felt both familiar and fearless. The night blended timeless covers with his own touches, paying homage to the roots of rock while pushing into fresh territory. Fans at the Mission Ballroom were treated to everything from Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” to Blind Willie Johnson’s “Cross Road Blues” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Stone Free.” The show also featured a brand-new original song, “Metal Chestnut,” giving the performance a unique stamp in Slash’s career.
The setlist ran deep, stretching across two full discs. Highlights included storm-soaked versions of “Stormy Monday” and “The Pusher,” a soulful cover of “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” and a fiery finale with “Shake Your Money Maker.” Each track revealed a different side of Slash’s playing — less about pyrotechnics and speed, more about feel, tone, and letting the blues breathe.
The release will be available in several formats: a 2CD + DVD digipak, a 2CD + Blu-ray digipak, and a heavyweight 3LP gatefold edition for vinyl collectors. The concert film captures not just the sound but the spirit of the night, a reminder that this festival wasn’t just about music — S.E.R.P.E.N.T. itself stands for Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N’ Tolerance, underscoring the event’s deeper mission of unity.
The first taste of the release comes with “Oh Well (Live),” a searing take on the Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac classic that Slash has been performing throughout his blues-focused tour. It’s a fitting preview of a project that strips everything back to what matters most: musicianship, soul, and connection with the crowd.
For Slash, Live At The S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival is more than a live album — it’s a statement about honoring his influences and sharing the music that shaped him long before arenas and stadiums. As he explained earlier this year, the blues has always been “the foundation of rock and roll,” and this release captures him fully immersed in that world, surrounded by musicians who bring it to life with fire and authenticity.
On November 7, fans will finally get to relive that Colorado night — a performance that wasn’t just a show, but a journey back to the roots of everything Slash has ever played.
