Tragically, he couldn’t fulfill this wish and passed away at the tender age of 27. On that fateful day, he spent hours talking with his girlfriend Monika at her apartment. Later, she found him unresponsive, though still breathing, and rushed him to St Mary Abbot’s Hospital, where Dr. John Bannister pronounced him dead.
More than 200 people attended Hendrix’s funeral, remembering the impact he had on the world. He was laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. In London, a museum called Handel & Hendrix was established in honor of Jimi Hendrix and music composer George Frideric Handel. Fans can visit to explore the works of these legendary musicians.
Ten days after his death, the autopsy report revealed that Hendrix had tragically choked on his own vomit. His body surrendered to asphyxia. As per certain sources, Jimi could have consumed barbiturates.
